wie versprochen: die Rita Bluse von Gertie´s neuer Schnittmusterlinie Charm Patterns.
Gerite macht ja seit jeher Schnittmuster, die von den 40er und 50er Jahren inspiriert sind, weshalb ich ein bekennender Fan von ihr bin. Ihre ersten zwei Schnittmuster habe ich mir gleich bestellt, als sie zu haben waren. Die Rita Bluse hat es mir besonders angetan.
Es handelt sich um eine figurnahe Bluse mit Carmenausschnitt und kleinen Ärmeln, die man als Flatterärmel oder als Puffärmel arbeiten kann. Ein Reißverschluss in der Seitennaht ermöglicht das an- und ausziehen.
Ich entschied mich für: wenn schon Carmen, dann ganz Carmen, also die Puffärmelchen.
Der Stoff ist eine wunderschöne Viskose von Stoff und Stil mit japanischem Blumenmuster auf dunkelblauem Grund.
Gertie hat dem Schnittmuster verschiedene Körbchengrößen (B bis DD) gegeben, sodass für (fast) jede Frau eine passende Größe dabei ist. Ein großes Plus, wie ich finde. Da ich ein A-Körbchen trage, habe ich die kleinste Größe genommen und für den unteren Teil der Bluse eine Größe 6. Nachdem ich die unteren Teile zusammengenäht hatte, habe ich eine Art Anprobe gemacht (also an mir angehalten und geprüft, ob alle Nähte an den richtigen Stellen sitzen) und dann noch circa 2cm in den Mittelnähten entfernt. Hätte ich das in den Seitennähten gemacht, wäre ich mit dem Reißverschluss in Konflikt geraten. Am Rest musste ich nichts ändern. Am Vorderteil, das die Brust bedeckt, werden an zwei Stellen Kräuselungen gemacht, am Rückenteil wird alles gekräuselt. Für den ganzen Prozess des Nähens gibt es auf Gertie´s Blog auch ein Tutorial. Ich bin gut mit der Beschreibung zurecht gekommen; das einzig Knifflige war das Einsetzen des Reißverschlusses (mit dem stehe ich seit Jahren auf Kriegsfuss), aber auch das hat letztendlich gut geklappt (Hallelujah).
Mit der fertigen Carmen, äh, Rita, bin ich sehr zufrieden. Sie ist gleich mit mir zum Salsa tanzen gegangen und hat sich dort bewährt. Die einzige Änderung, die ich bei einer zweiten Version machen werde, ist, den unteren Teil noch etwas enger zu machen.
Die Bluse passt perfekt zu meinem neuen Bleistift-Rock und war sogar der Grund für dessen Entstehung 😀 .
Fazit: für Anfänger geeignete hübsche Sommerbluse mit recht wenig Stoffverbrauch

I promised to show my Rita Blouse, so here it is: Rita by Gertie´s new pattern line Charm Patterns.
Gertie does 40ies and 50ies inspired patterns since day 1, which makes me a big fan of hers. When she started her new company Charm Patterns through kickstarter, I participated and donated some money to help her launch the company. When my reward (the two first patterns of Charm Patterns) reached me, I fell in love with Rita.
Rita is a figure hugging blouse with a Carmen neckline and little sleeves, that can be made as flutter sleeves or puffy sleeves. A zipper in the side seam allows the getting in and out of the garment.
I decided to make the puffy sleeves to achieve an overall Carmen-like look. The fabric is a beautiful viscose from a scandinavian company called Stoff und Stil, with japanese flowers on a dark blue background.
Gertie added different cup sizes to the pattern (B to DD), so that almost all the Ladies can find the right size for themselves, without the hassle of adjustments. A big plus in my opinion. Since I needed an A cup I chose the smallest size and a size 6 for the lower part of the blouse. After assembling the lower part I made a fitting (like holding the piece to my midriff and checking wether the seams sit in the right places) and cut off ca. 2 cm on the two middle seams. My first thought was to take the amount away from the side seams, but then I´d have compromised the zipperseam and further up the sleeve. I didn´t need to alter anything else, as the rest is ruffled and can be adjusted then. There is a detailed tutorial for the blouse on Gertie´s blog, but I stuck to the paper instructions and was fine. The only little challenge was the inserting of the zipper (he and I are not best buddies if you know what I mean), but I mastered that in the end (hoorray!).
I am pretty spiked with the finished Carmen, ooops, Rita blouse. She went to go Salsa dancing with me already and made a very nice appearance. Check 🙂 In a second version I would tighten the lower part a little further and maybe lengthen it a bit, but other than that I am pleased and happy with the pattern. It even was the reason I finally made my black pencil skirt (because I saw the illustration of the Rita and wanted to have a skirt to match).
Summary: a lovely summer blouse suitable for beginners and little fabric yardage
